After a morning of cycling the cobbled streets of Brugge, we found ourselves waddling the short distance from our central location on Market Square to Ribs 'n Beer to refuel. Upon arrival we were greeted by a chirpy waitress and a heavenly waft of ribs which I couldn't wait to get stuck in to. The ribs that is...
After being shown to our table I promptly ordered a Juniper Lager which was brown, wet and beer like. Roughly half a glass later out came the Ribs accompanied by a delicious side of wedges. I ordered the Smokey BBQ Ribs which tasted as good as they smelt. A mixture of minimal fat, a rich tangy marinade and juicy meat which fell off the bone made them the best ribs I have had the pleasure of devouring. Becky opted for the Chefs "Special Rub" which could only be described as being as dry as a nun. As it was "all you can eat" the disappointment was short lived.
Round 2 began with Spicy BBQ for myself and Beer & Chocolate for Becky, who also needed another beer no thanks to what will now be known as the DAAN Ribs. The Spicy BBQ sauce was very similar to the Smokey BBQ, the only difference being the former had a pleasant punch which naturally lead to more beer. I didn't try the Beer & Chocolate but Becky's cocoa covered grin gave the impression that they were to the standard of the BBQ variety.
Round 3 was also a delight where we both went for Smokey BBQ. I enjoyed it so much I had round 4,5 and 6, however the in house record of 17 was very safe as by this point I had undone all of my trouser buttons and was ready for a nap.
